Julio Says Goodbye on The Biggest Loser

Oct 06, 2009

Tonight the contestants faced another challenge as they went into voting... they would have to make the toughest decision they have ever had to make since Season 8 began. Would it be Julio or Danny and Liz? While Julio has proven that he has what it takes to lose the weight, Danny and Lizz still have each other to get them through. After an emotional voting round, the remaining contestants chose Julio. It seemed as though the game playing was kept to a minimum this time around and, with either choice, everyone would be losing a friend.

Do you think Julio should have been voted off? Vote in our poll below and tell us what you thought about tonight's episode.

Julio's post-show interview

Name: Julio
Hometown: Algonquin, IL
Occupation: Mortgage loan officer
Favorite Cheat Food: Pancakes with sugar-free syrup and chocolate
Goal for 2010: Keep going forward
Starting weight: 407
Elimination Weight: 364

NSD: What was your big turning point—either during the show or before that made you realize you needed to lose the weight?
I turned 40 this year and made a promise I would be fit.

NSD: What is one thing you wish you had known before going on The Biggest Loser?
How hard it was! You see it on TV, but you just don’t know until you experience it.

NSD: If you could have done one thing differently during the show, what would it be?
I would have prepared myself a little better before I left. But, I am satisfied with how things worked out for me.

NSD: What was the hardest thing to adapt to while being on the ranch?
Being away from your family. Nothing can prepare you for that.

NSD: What is one thing that keeps you motivated?
Not to quit. Quiting is easy, going forward is hard. Too many people wanted this and I won’t let myself or them down.

NSD: What is your favorite workout?
The pool or running alone. It’s a great time to collect your thoughts.

NSD: What's the best advice Bob or Jillian has given you?
You can do it! They believed in us more than we believed in ourselves. They saved my life.

NSD: What happens behind the scenes of the show that no one would know from watching it?
Things don’t happen as fast as you see them. There is a lot of hurry up and wait.

NSD: What did you do for fun while you were on the ranch?
A few of us loved to play cards. The trash talking never stopped. It was my favorite part. It allowed us to step away from the show awhile.
