My Pick of the Week: The Tube Scarf
When talking about a fashionable accessory if I could I would like to recommend the snood. That is to say the “tube scarf” a hot trend for the season! Perfect to pop any coat or jacket…or just give the coolest gift this year! This comfy cozy neck ring is all the rage!
Burberry calls this fashionable neck warmer a “snood” but it is just a tubular scarf. Burberry's Giant Check Snood with Fringe is approximately 28” in circumference and is made of a blend of cashmere and merino wool. It will cost you about $195. This cashmere scarf also features fringe which added just enough detail to make it so worth the price.
Others are calling the tube scarf an “infinity scarf”. Basically, it is a circular scarf that is pre-wrapped and is just one piece. It connects end to end creating a circle, to infinity. The length of the scarf varies. Some you simply place over your head to sit around your neck and others you can wrap around your neck as many or as few times as you like. You will find them in all different fabrics and prices.
Here are a few other options:
There is The Infinity “Neck Ring” by Echo Design. It measures about 62” inches in circumference and can be wrapped around several times. The wrapping can just bring the fabric closer to your neck. So you can stay as warm as you like just by adjusting it. This neck ring retails for $32 and is made of rayon.
A more disposable version is offered by Target. The Hollywood Intuition Infinity Scarf. It measures 92” in circumference and is made of acrylic and costs $14.99.
A good mid-point choice would be the Shaker Infinity Scarf by The Limited. It measures 60” in circumference and made of acrylic for $39.50. Best of all it comes in eleven different colors! Because it is 14” wide you get a versatile piece that you can wrap around your shoulders, wear as a hood or simply use it as a scarf.
A tube scarf is a great accent piece that unlike other accent pieces this one will keep you warm. With our crazy weather changing like the wind you can wrap it once…….or wrap it twice! Or just have it in your bag ready to go.
Would you buy a snood if you could?
