23-year-old Lady Gaga got her start playing in NYC clubs while simultaneously writing songs for artists such as Britney Spears, Akon and the Pussycat Dolls. You can barely drive 15 yards in your car without turning the radio on and hearing, “I love this record baby, but I can't see straight anymore…Keep it cool, what's the name of this club?...I can't remember but it's alright, alright…Just dance!”

  • It’s the photo loved ‘round the world: On page 194 of the September issue of Glamour magazine, model Lizzi Miller —20 years old, 5’11”, 180 pounds, size 12 – sits naked and laughing, resplendent and glowing in her skin. She is not a stick. She does not have a flat stomach. She does not have scrawny arms or chicken legs. She looks like we do. And she looks beautiful. The photo was commissioned for a story on feeling comfortable in your skin, says Glamour editor Cindi Leive, “and [we] wanted a model who looked like she was.” Leive and Miller were on the Today Show Monday, talking about the amazing response. • I’ve thought a lot of things while watching Friends: “Who the hell has an apartment like that in NYC?” “Maybe I should start talking more *like* Chandler Bing.” “I want a pet duck!” “’Smelly Cat’ is lyrical genius.” “This is one of the best TV kisses ever.” “Rachel is a lucky SOB for looking like that AND getting to go home to someone who looks like this every night.”

“Save the whales.” On its own, it seems like an admirable goal, a call to action, a plea to help animals on the brink of extinction. But when those words are accompanied by an overweight woman in a bikini, as PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has most recently done, it morphs into a hateful, body-shaming slam.

  • If you ever wanted to find out why the New York Times is in such financial trouble, you just have to peruse the latest gem vomited out by the “Critical Shopper” Cintra Wilson in her diatribe titled “Playing to the Middle.” In this bile soaked missive the elitist scribe takes on JC Penny and the fact that it had decided to “invade” Herald Square. You see the Times hates you and is happy to tell you that to your face.

  • Whether it’s her ripped arms or his Dad jeans, the Obamas sure know how to attract attention with their wardrobe choices. The current maelstrom is focused on an entirely new presidential body part, though: the First Lady’s gams.

  • I am really over Mad Men. I couldn't wait to watch the premiere episode this week and it just seems like they lost their way. They had these strange flash backs and flash forwards and non-linear storylines that just seemed much ado about nothing. Plus I only really enjoyed it for the fashion.
