Day 1 Assignment: Makeover Your Fridge

Are you ready to lose weight and adopt healthy habits? For the next 30 days, you'll get a daily assignment on your profile that will help you do just that. First, clean out your fridge. Throw away all outdated items. Then buy:

  • Fruits and veggies, cut fruit and veggies for snacks, frozen fruit for smoothies and frozen veggies for soups, chili and stews
  • Low-fat and fat-free dairy products, 4-oz. containers of yogurt and cottage cheese
  • Low-sodium deli meat, skinless white-meat chicken and fish, whole grain bread and rolls

I put on a lot of weight earlier because of ill health but have been losing steadily on a healthy diet. I feel I am losing motivation and this challeng may give me some fresh ideas. I am not able to exercise as much as I would like because of high blood pressure and a leg problem.

I have hypothyroid.  I was wondering if there is something you can recomend to me to help kick up my metabolism.  I want to loose 30 pounds in the next 3 months, does that sound like a reasonable goal?

Smart popcorn, fruit, nuts, yoghurt, oatmeal - steel cut - for breakfast with cinnamon and currents, HUGE salads, pomegranet juice with blueberry, green tea and water - keep eating healthy snacks and make your meals smaller - don't eat late - keep busy with activities like walking, house work, sports - the thyroid med helped my skin almost immediately and I got a lot more active :) Make sure you take your thyroid med an hour before you eat in the morning - take calcium and high fiber later in the day !
