Weight Loss Tricks: Fact or Fiction?
False: Chew Gum
Your grade-school teacher may have been right when she made you toss the gum. For some, he says, chewing gum fires up their taste buds: after extracting all the flavor from a stick, they may avidly seek other sensation—in more caloric form.

Plus, let's face it folks. Chewing gum is a very unattractive habit in public. It makes people look at best like mindless cows and at worst like trashy hoodlums. There were several American athletes who showed up at the opening ceremonies of the last Olympics chomping away. What an embarassment.

That is the truth about gum! I have tried all kinds of flavors and only the mint does any good and only after I have eaten enough, not to curb cravings though, nothing but the real thing helps that. I did find the low fat hot fudge sundae at McDonald's helps my chocolate and ice cream cravings, I add roasted pecans, and I feel full!!

Kind of funny how I found out about this site through The Biggest Loser, which advocates using gum to avoid cravings. No wonder we're all overweight if we're constantly getting conflicting information.
