Even Celeb Trainers Need Workout Motivation

9 trainers share their exercise mantras
When fitness is your job, excuses don't cut it. Here's how trainers beat the workout blues.
"Yesterday I woke up feeling tired and sluggish, but I had committed to teach two hard, intense classes in a row with no break. I said a silent prayer that I could just make it through. About five minutes into the first class, I started feeling better and by the time we were done with the warm up, I felt great...Strong even. It just was a reminder to me that sometimes you just cannot predict a workout."

The gym is in my building 100ft from my office, and I have to walk by it to get to my car. So unless I really am exhausted, I make a deal: go in, get changed and start; if I still don't feel like it after 5 minutes I can leave. 95% of the time I finish the workout. This especially works when I change jobs or schedules and have to get back into it. Also ... to get past the boredom ... I have video podcasts that are most conveniently watched on my iPod. And the easiest place to watch them is with the iPod sitting in front of me on the ledge of the steppercycleclimbermaster.
