FitFlops Get You Fit And Other Hype

Today diet and nutrition editor Madelyn Fernstrom calls bluff on some popular health and weight-loss claims.

Showing your cute pedicured toes with some stylish flip-flops is a hot summer trend. Don’t be fooled—companies are now marketing their flip-flops as shoes that help tone your leg muscles and subsequently burn more calories when walking. But Fernstrom says FitFlops are merely flip-flops with good support. Though they won’t tone any muscle, they will help you walk longer because your feet won’t hurt.

I definitely agree with the six meals a day comment.  This is the optimal way to eat.  You will keep your cravings down, increase your metabolism, and burn more fat.  This is only one component of weight loss.  You definitely need to establish some sort of exercise regimen too.  Lastly, you need to effectively manage your stress levels.  Combine these three things and you will be able to successfully lose weight and keep it off.

For Kat: Why are you in this website again? Believe it or not water actually helps cleanse out your system and it can help you lose weight.  Here's a website that can explain more:

I totally agree with Grammie.  It is also the basis of plans like Jenny Craig.  They have you eat a light breakfast, mid a.m. snack, light lunch, mid afternoon snack, dinner, and evening snack.  It really keeps you from getting overly hungry and going to those not so healthy high calorie foods.  You don't have to be on Jenny Craig to do the same thing.

The key to successful weight loss is to eat several "mini" meals throughout the day. It's really not good for you to only eat one meal a day. It throws off your metabolism and can actually cause you to gain weight.

Snack on something healthy every 2-3 hours so that your blood sugar stays leveled out and you don't let yourself get hungry. If you feel hungry between the mini meals, then that is the time to drink more water. Drink a glass of water and wait a few minutes. If you still feel hungry, then snack on something healthy again.

I love to drink water and I drink lots of it! And I ain't skinny! So don't worry about having to drink tons of water to lose weight! The key is mainly, barely eat anything, like maybe one meal a day of like chicken and vegetables and a dinner roll if you want, and you should lost weight. You could walk around or work out a little to if you want! That's the only way I ever lost wegiht! By working out alot more or eating alot less!!!!!
