If you haven't walked much or even regularly before, your feet may be sore just because they are trying to get used to it.  There are a few things I'd try: 1. lower your time walking to say 25 minutes from the 45. Then slowly build from there. 2. Check your shoes and make sure they're a good fit for you. 3. See if someone can watch you walk to make sure you aren't favoring one side over the other or anything like that. Good Luck!

My doctor suggested that should exchange white potato for sweet potato, aspargus instead of

strings beans, white bread for wheat breads.  and then no rice, no pasta and no fried foods.

and in saying this, my weight goes up and down.  why?

I am 5'8" and weigh about 185 lbs. I am also very active and I eat a lot or when ever I want. So my weight stays about the same. Is there an easier way to lose weight other than dieting? I diet I lose weight but I can't diet forever that's just not my style.

Check out any of Dr. Dean Ornish's books for more information.  They also have some not-bad recipes, although some are a little more complicated than you'd want for everyday.  The best cookbook I've found overall is called "1001 low fat Vegetarian Recipes" by Sue Spitler.  There's also a website at www.fatfree.com that's all low fat vegetarian stuff, contributed by readers.  I've found a lot of good stuff there.  It can be hard work lowering cholesterol by diet and lifestyle without drugs, but it CAN be done!  Good luck!  : )

I started initially with brisk walking for 45 minutes two weeks ago, and i stopped since one week as my feet started aching. I think i have a very low calcium.  What should i do.
