Dear Elsie,
Just read your post.Good for you. Before I turned 40 (10 years ago) I took a good look at the women in my family and saw all their health problems and all were related to their weight.I started right then and there to pursue healthy goals for myself and my life.It took three months for me to go from 170 lbs to 135lbs.Right now I am at 148 pounds at age 49.I am inspired by your determination to get into shape. You are right,God is with you and on your side. You can take off that 100lbs with the determination you have expressed.Don't get frustrated if it does not come off in your time.I have found walking to be the BEST way to clear my head, avoid food at the wrong times, lower my blood pressure, tone me up and enjoy the peace and beauty of nature.I won't say "good luck" because luck has nothing to do with weight loss. You do.Walking gives you the time to quietly talk to god and before you know it,this time next year, you will be 100 pounds lighter.I know you can do it and you will.God Bless!

I'm 56 years old and I have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, I weigh 246 pounds, I'm HIV + for 21 years, I had heart surgery a year and a half ago,I've also got rhuematoid arthritis but I've taken on the responsibilitie of raising my nephew after he was born 7 yrs. ago and believe me I stay very active all day every day. i dont sit around feeling sorry for myself. We live on a budget and its hard to buy the different foods I thought I needed for myself and something different for my nephew as well as my husband. Here recently my family started to make different little remarks about my weight and I was really taking offense to the remarks until one day I could'nt even bend down and tie my shoe and it hit me that they were'nt tring to hurt my feelings, they were concerned about me. So, I decided to do something about my weight . Tuesday I went to see my doctor, I've always had this Primary care doctor my insurance carrier had assigned me 2 yrs. ago and had never went to, I've only seen specialist for the different things that are wrong with me but this doctor really let me know that I had taken the first step to losing weight and that he would be there if I needed him for anything. I'm so glad that I found this site in my e-mail. I really need the support you are offering . Who knows this might be devine intervention for me, if so I can only say thank you God. I always knew God was on my side . I'm ready to get to work !!!!! I talked to my family and we are all going to start to eat healthier and that will help when I go shopping and thats a good start. My doctor showed me some exercise I can do to get started. My goal is to lose 100lbs, exercising and eating heart healthy. I'm realistic, I know it's not going to be easy but I figure If I want to be around, and I do, to see my nephew grow up to be the fine young man I know he's going to be , he wants to be a doctor, I must do all I've got to do to reach my weight goal and who knows get to feel better and get healthier too. Thanks and I'll be needing you.

I've wanted something like this for long time. I've recently put my weight back on and feel breathless easily. I wanted to start lightly. I'll try it soon and let you know about the progress I've made.
P.S. = I've NEVER been an exerciser in my 23yr of life. So, if it helps me... it's gold!! :D
