Track what you eat and drink for a week. Look at what you can give up without much problem, but that you have "too much" of. For me, I've given up sweet tea entirely and all other drinks with sugar except for juice and one hot chocolate a day. I've also started only ordering small sizes if I go out for fast food, realized I was eating 2-4 large fries or onion rings a week after I kept track.
Other "tricks" I'm doing is drinking 8oz of water right as I wake up, starts the day right. I just keep the bottle beside my bed, drink it before my feet hit the floor. Other good trick is having half a cup bowls for your ice cream. It's the serving size, so you know exactly how many calories you're getting and it's so much less tempting to put in that extra scoop.

I have been writing down everything I eat or drink for three weeks now. It has made a difference! The pants I had been saving 'til they fit well they finally do. When I have to write it all down I am less likely to pig out. My goal is between 1,200 -1,600 calories per day, that is all I keep track of as far as food goes, then I put in there if I worked on my abs or did weights during the day. Simple "dance" moves or using the ab lounger, I get up and just dance in my living room. I do this when no one is home of course. Plus I usually only drink water (sometimes flavored with crystal light), black coffee, or hot tea. I have been heavy since I first became pregnant 17 years ago, I am the biggest in my family, my sisters, and aunts are all very skinny not that I want to join them I want a little muscle on me, but I would definately like to fit in. My husband of course loves the way I am and insists that I am not "fat". I don't really have any friends that I hang out with on a day to day, which is prob. why I am babbling now. I am mainly doing this for myself, because I have found that if you are not happy with yourself you are miserable in a lot of aspects of your life.

CC,
On Oprah yesterday, they said that regular bacon is better for you than turkey - they both have the same calories and fat, but the turkey bacon is higher in sodium.
Sounds like you're on the right track with everything - keep up the good work

Malizzi you have to remember no matter what you can never ever give up or you will never succeed. if you blow it even once never give up. just keep going and never stop. if you turn back you will not succeed.
