The best way for me to eat healthy at fast food restaurants is not to go to them! But if I must, I choose ones where the food is comparable to something great I’d prepare at home. Subway is excellent, you can select whole grain bread, low fat dressing and tons of vegetable toppings on yummy deli meat with cheese. If I find myself at KFC, they have twisters/wraps which are delicious and filling.

I have replaced hamburger with ground bison and bison roasts which are much healthier than hamburger and almost no fat content. Bison is becoming a popular alternate to beef in Canada and it’s picking up in the US as well.

If I have to eat out Wendys is my pick. I order baked potatoe plain (skip the butter and sour cream, I just tell them I do not east them TRUE) chili and a salad from the value meal pour 1/2 the chili over the potato. Then have salad with light dressing. Filling and healthy!
