Push Yourself

It's important to get your blood moving almost every day even if you are injured. I recently went through surgery on my jaw and was bed-ridden for over a week. Even though I couldn't run or go to the gym, I still made sure that I took a walk everyday. It doesn't need to be a 10 mile walk, just a short walk to the food store or with your dog is enough to get your heart rate up and your blood flowing. Once you are feeling better and have more energy, push yourself to walk a little longer each time. Exercise of any kind speeds the process of recovery and allows your body to heal faster. Push yourself to move around even when you're feeling like you can't. If will benefit you in the long run.

This is a great tip! I try to ride my recumbent bike each morning before work but always hop on right from bed... tomorrow, 2 glasses of tepid water and fruit afterward... I most definitely try this!
